“Back in 2020, this album started from a place of grief but gradually became something different. It’s about the condition of life and the fragility of our world and our earth, but also our bodies, the vulnerability of our relationships, and of everything else that surrounds us.
I would like it to be a transformational experience for the listener, as it has been for me. Listening to it now, it takes me to a place of acceptance and rest, of acknowledging that what is, just is. It exists away from ego and artificial perfection, and allows for imperfections. It finds beauty in the space between the notes; in the breath of a cellist, in hands that find their way across the keys.
This album is also for my children, a message I am leaving for a future version of them. In these songs I am reflecting on how they might hear their father in the music and, at the same time, feel the love that I have for them.”
